This work aims to relate self-efficacy to assertiveness in a sample of 238 teenagers who practice (67%) and who do not practice (33%) traditional dances. They are students from educational institutions and dance studios in the districts of Ate, San Luis and Santa Anita (districts chosen based on their socioeconomic status). A non-probability sampling was used, as well as an adaptation of the Rathus Assertiveness Scale (R.A.S., León and Vargas, 2008) and an adaptation of the Self-Efficacy Scale (Self-Efficacy Scale, Suárez, Pérez and Bermúdez, 2000). This work revealed that: (a) The whole sample shows that self-efficacy is significantly and positively related to assertiveness. However, from those who practice and those who do not practice dances, the highest correlation coefficient (r = .58) was found in teenagers who practice dances. Conversely, in the whole sample and in those who do not practice dances, the correlation was moderate (r = 47 and r = 46, respectively). (b) Self-efficacy is significantly, negatively and low related to passivity in the whole sample, and in those who do not practice dances. There is no meaningful connection in the results from the group of teenagers who practice dances.en_US
