La presente investigación compara la satisfacción laboral y el compromiso organizacional dependiendo de la modalidad contractual de la muestra; la cual se compone de noventa y seis (96) trabajadores limeños. Para los fines de la investigación se empleó el cuestionario de satisfacción laboral S21/26 creado por Meliá (1990) y la escala de compromiso organizacional elaborada por Meyer y Allen (1997), no encontrando diferencias significativas en la satisfacción y compromiso organizacional en empleados tanto a plazo fijo como a plazo indeterminado, lo cual significaría que las empresas están en facultad para continuar con un modelo contractual flexible. Palabras clave: satisfacción laboral, compromiso organizacional, contrato de trabajo.The present research compares job satisfaction and organizational commitment depending on the contractual modality of the sample; which is composed of ninety-six (96) workers living in the city of Lima. The male sex represents forty-eight (48) percent of the sample, while the female represents fifty-two (52) percent. Fifty (50) percent has a fixed term work contract and the other (50) percent has an indefinite work contract. The questionnaires used in this reseach are: The job satisfaction questionnaire S21 / 26 by Meliá (1990) and the organizational commitment scale by Meyer and Allen (1997). The result of this reseach find no differences in the scale of job satisfaction and organizational commitment in empleyees with fixed term contract and indefinite work contract, motivating companies to continue with a more flexible type of contract.
