      This research work aims to solve the question of: How the Law prohibiting advertising in audiovisual media decided "Prisoner's Dilemma" for cigarette producers? To do this, we use theories in our research that can explain this situation, such as concepts like Game Theory, Nash Equilibrium and the Prisoner's Dilemma. On the other hand, as a methodology of research work, we will introduce a brief description of the historical context in which the industry of cigarette was in the United States in the 1970s. In this time medical researchers reported the harmful effects of tobacco consumption for the health. For this reason, the US government decided to take immediate and effective measures to protect the health of the population of the country by implementing the law banning advertising media to product measures. Analyzing the impact of this law in the tobacco industry, it is concluded that this law benefit companies in this industry since it generates savings in advertising and are constantly competing by getting tobacco consumers decide to consume another brand.

      This research aims to generate a strategic business plan, focused in the causes of the low consumption of paiche meat in Lima to develop a commercial market for this product. The fictitious company “Fuego Verde”will apply the appropriate strategies to be successful in the market. Certain topics will be analized, such as the low knowledge of paiche, problems in the supply chain of Amazonian products and stereotypes about aquiculture and river fishes. Based on various sources and experts in the area, the company will implement a series of strategies that will generate a paiche consumption culture in Lima. Initially, its necessary to have a theoretical framework in which the main topics of the research are explained. It’s important to to describe the current situation of aquaculture, the description of the paiche, methods of conservation, regulations to constitute a company and the administrative tools and theory that will support our strategies. Two types of research methodologies will be used, the first is the qualitative approach consisting in using depth interviews and “Focus Groups”, the second is the is the quantitative approach developed by formal surveys. Based on the obtained results, the development of the research will be focused on the generation of the commercial strategies to affront Lima’s market. There will be a Canvas model, an integral development of the value chain, a qualitative and quantitative analysis and the formulation of the strategies through the FODA and Ansoff matrix. The analysis focuses on the financial evaluation of the company, to sustain the profitability of the business in Lima’s market.

    • Desarrollar un modelo de gestión de inventario para la optimización de costos de la minera Southern Copper Corporation

      This dissertation consists on the application of an inventory management model in order to achieve cost optimisation for Southern Copper Corporation, one of the largest mining companies in Peru. The model focuses on optimising inventory management, covering costs for – caused by unsatisfied demand, especially in China, the biggest user of copper in the world. The implementation of the model does not need additional investment in equipment purchases nor machinery, but rather in reorganising and improving the production process in order to be able to increase copper production in the mine. The chosen solution model is the Continuous Probability model, which indicates that the additional optimal quantity to the actual production needed is 20,073.39 tonnes. This implies an increase in production of USD 55,760,288.30. However, the economic benefit generated by this model is USD 91,532,430.92, representing an increase in shareholder value. The departments in charge of assisting in this project are the Sales department, and the Production and Plant department. The implementation of the model will be successful as production is less than demand, especially in target markets such as China, from which purchase orders, which cannot be attended due to deficiencies in the company’s production processes, are received.

      In this project, we discuss the design of a waiting line model that allows us to identify the optimal number of servers to improve the customer service time of a bank. The hypothesis that we want to prove is if the actual model of the financial institution is appropriate for customer support or if is necessary to change it. To verify what we mentioned before, this work is divided in four chapters. The first focuses on explaining the theory of waiting line models. The second focuses on the research plan, in which we detail the problem for evaluation, the hypotheses and the objectives of this project. The third chapter details the proposed methodology in order to develop and analyze the problem in the fourth chapter. Finally, after all the analysis, we conclude that the number of servers must be increase to improve customer service time and reduce the total costs of the financial institution.

      The present Assignment of Sufficiency Professional focuses on sustain how a correct design of a system of allocation and cost control allows to generate savings and helps to establish a correct price to generate an increase in the total contribution margin of a business.Throughout this assignment, three specific objectives have been validated, applying them to “Lavandería Sra. Washi” , a service company, which has almost two years of operation in the market and is currently classified as a modern enterprise in the laundry business , because it has a specialized service in function of the use of washing supplies (detergent, softener and perfume) according to the preference of the client. For the first specific objective, we identified the different costs and expenses in which the business incurs which were separated by subcategories, according to existing theories. After this, the second objective was achieved, which consisted on using the most appropriate costing system for the business to control and generate cost savings, for which it was validated, with different theories, that the costing system “By work orders” is the most appropriate to do so, by comparing real costs with standards costs. Finally, through the information and data collected from the business, a methodology could be established to readjust the price previously defined, and to make “Lavandería Sra. Washi” able to obtain a higher operating profit in the short term.

      In Peru, the concept of social responsibility has been present since the 1990s. However, in recent years, companies have pushed the development of several programs to solve a social issue by using greater resources and action plans (Garavito, 2008). In this paper, the three pillars, economic, social and environmental, of corporate social responsibility, have been analyzed the impact of social entrepreneurship on society. This analysis aimed to demonstrate that the entrepreneurial activity with a focus on social responsibility of two study cases: L.O.O.P. S.A.C. and YAQUA E.I.R.L. has a positive and sustainable impact on the development of local communities. Through a qualitative research, the interviews were conducted with representatives of both companies, and the results showed that a social enterprise generates a positive impact on society. However, the contribution of these two companies to the dimensions of social responsibility varies according to their structures and business models. Furthermore, it was noted that these enterprises are sustainable over time due to the generation of profits, and exploitation of own resources that do not affect the ecosystem. Finally, it was possible to identify the key success factors of both study cases, among which the strategic alliances, management skills and experience of the founders in social enterprises stand out.

      The present Professional Sufficiency Work (TSP) aims to demonstrate that the effect of telework generates productivity in an organization; Which is backed by an effective training plan for a company in the education sector through the Blended Learning learning modality developed by the teacher as teleworking, comparing classroom and semi-blind classes (blended). The research used for the TSP has been descriptive, since the research is intended to describe the impact of teleworking; For which the use of qualitative and quantitative tools was used, through interviews and surveys respectively. Likewise, from the comparative analysis carried out on the face-to-face classes and on the blended classes, based on a relevant costing system, it is shown that the classes imparted in blended mode present higher productivity, since the expense incurred for dictating a semi-face class is lower, Which translates into the organization as a cost savings by providing the same service but with fewer resources. On the other hand, the training plan used by the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences (UPC) to teachers who perform telework, through the Blended Learning learning modality is fundamental for the achievement of the objectives proposed by the organization, since From this new mode of learning, the service offered to the students (clients) should not change in the quality standards in which the classes are taught in face-to-face mode; If not on the contrary to maintain and improve them.

      This investigation provides a clear guidance on the Peruvian negotiating style within the telecommunications industry through the analysis of the cases of Entel Perú and Telefónica del Perú. Upon arriving at the Peruvian market, these companies were established with the culture of their head offices, Chilean culture and Spanish culture respectively. The main objective of this investigation is to determine whether the Peruvian negotiating style has a tendency to the distributive style. In addition, this investigation will examine how the Peruvian negotiating style is also affected by other negotiating cultures. Furthermore, this will analyze the fact that the negotiating Peruvian style is able to add some features of the foreign negotiation style to his initial style over time. Finally, this investigation intends to prove that the clash of cultures can generate a positive impact, whenever it enriches the initial profile of the Peruvian negotiator; this through the several methodological tools herein used, for example the surveys conducted to the employees of the above mentioned companies, the surveys conducted to the industry experts, and the interviews made to academics specialist in negotiations. The result of the investigation confirmed that Peruvians are directly affected by the cultures of the head offices. Peruvian people consider that they have an integrative negotiating style. Likewise, this investigation confirmed that the Peruvian negotiating style is not a completely distributive style. Actually, the Peruvian negotiating style consists of a mixture of integrative style and distributive style, since the Peruvian negotiating style is influenced by different factors.       The present investigation is based on a qualitative study of the main risks of the supply chain of Honda del Peru with its main dealers, as well as an analysis of the main actions taken to minimize these risks. To start the research, a general objective and six specific objectives were proposed. The overall objective was to identify the main risks of the supply chain of the company Honda del Perú and as well as the solution (s) executed to minimize these risks. Between the years 2013 - 2015 Honda of Peru went through its worst stage in financial terms, a strong problem of automobile over-stock threatened to bankrupt the whole company, however the company executed a series of actions that minimized this risk, thus ensuring it’s continuity in the market. The method used in the research plan to address the problem was qualitative. This was because we were faced with a problem that required different perspectives to reach to a specific conclusion. We decided for the in-depth interview tool aimed at experts on the subject. Within the conclusions we obtained that the identification and analysis of the main risks: regarding forecasts, inventories and capacity, were successfully countered with the main strategy of generation of shortage and supported in the celebration of a better contract with authorized dealers, by Honda del Perú.

      The purpose of this project it’s to prove development of an employability model and verify if this influences the retention of the administrative staff in the company OPP FILM SA. In order to conduct this analysis, proposed a research with descriptive designs, used research techniques such as surveys, in which the administrative staff participated, and had an interview with the company's Human Resources Manager. To obtain more information, the company provided documents which were thoroughly revised; this helps to make an analysis of the index and the costs of rotation It was concluded, through the surveys, that employability model influences the retention of the administrative staff and the employees value professional development by means of line career. On the other hand, the interview with the company's Human Resources Manager establishes Opp Film SA is working on an employability model, because the company determines that improve the professional development would help reduce employee’s rotation and increase their competitive level. Finally, it is recommended that Opp Film develops internal strategies such as the career line and internal recruitment, to improve the employability, thereby minimizing rotation costs.

      El presente trabajo se enfoca en el área de capacitación y desarrollo de recursos humanos de la empresa Concar del Grupo Graña y Montero. En los últimos dos años, en las reuniones de directorio conformado por todas las gerencias de la empresa, se ha observado que los indicadores de la gerencia de gestión humana no han sido de los más favorables. Se han presentado altos índices de rotación, vacaciones vencidas, gran cantidad de demandas laborales, capacitaciones no orientadas al crecimiento del colaborador, la no existencia de un plan de retención del talento humano, entre otras. Todo ello ha afectado los resultados anuales de la empresa. Debido a esto, se tiene como finalidad proponer iniciativas que mejoren algunos de los procesos de capacitación y desarrollo del área de recursos humanos para contribuir con el rendimiento financiero y el ahorro en costos de la empresa. Se realizará previamente un análisis basado en el mapa estratégico y en el Balance Scorecard (BSC) que representa la situación actual de la empresa Concar, con el objetivo de optimizar los procesos e indicadores de la perspectiva de aprendizaje a través del método de la investigación cualitativa. Este trabajo solo se realizará usando el método cualitativo, ya que por factores de tiempo no se ha podido realizar una investigación cuantitativa. Sin embargo, dicho método nos permite profundizar en los temas planteados y a no generalizar la información. Además de describir y analizar a detalle los temas determinantes en las herramientas de investigación aplicadas. Es por ello que al final de la investigación se plantea una propuesta de mejora, más no una implementación de un nuevo proceso de capacitación. A través de este método, usaremos un solo caso que será evaluado a partir de su contexto y herramientas de investigación como la revisión documentaria, entrevista en profundidad y focus group. Todo lo mencionado se realizará con la finalidad de recolectar la suficiente información que nos permita identificar las oportunidades de mejora en las áreas que están plenamente relacionadas con el problema descrito de la empresa. Esta información será la base para diseñar las propuestas de solución y las estrategias que ayuden a redefinir el proceso de capacitación del área de recursos humanos, creando de esta manera valor para la organización.

      The main objective of this project is to evaluate the profitability of a customer service training program through the ROI model in the company Star Group. From the evaluation and analysis of the customer service area main shortcomings, the need to implement this program is determined based on the current service deficiencies. The ROI gives us information for the evaluation of the results obtained in a training program quantifying the economic benefits and comparing them with the costs incurred to implement the program. It should be noted that the company currently does not have a training program annual plan, so based on the evaluation that describes the actual situation of the provided service; improvements were made to reduce the level of customer complaints at Lima offices. To carry out the analysis a quantitative methodology has been used and a quasi-experimental methodological research design. The results obtained in this research allowed to determine that through a training program, the performance of the customer service area workers has improved, and this change has been perceived favorably by the clients; likewise, after applying the ROI model the acceptance of the proposed hypothesis was concluded, since the results of the implementation were positive compared to the costs incurred, therefore the investment made in the program generated profitability.

      We live in a globalized world in which we constantly carry out many activities that are part of our daily routine. Among these activities, we highlight the deals, transactions or dialogues that occur in the day to day of each individual, whether from requesting a raise or vacation, to the acquisition of goods or services, in all these situations we resort to a negotiation to achieve our goal. In this research, we will analyze how the influence of the cultural factor and communication influences the negotiations, especially the negotiation carried out in 2013 between the Alsur Corporation dedicated to the agroindustrial sector, and the peasant community of Markjo located in the province of Anta in Cuzco. Taking this case as a reference, which we will develop in the following chapters, we will explain in detail and analyze how the negotiation process is not only influenced by how we exert communication with the other party, but there must also be a general knowledge of how you think, what is their lifestyle, and what issues are important to the counterpart. Throughout this work, we will begin by describing basic concepts related to the topics of cultural factor, communication and negotiation; Then we will raise the main problem of research as a starting point for the development of the hypotheses that will be confirmed or denied by the data that we collect with the methodological tools and the results obtained from the various sources specially selected for the elaboration of this research work. The fifth chapter of the present paper analyzes the results obtained in practice with the theory applied in research. Finally, a series of conclusions and recommendations are made that, in sum, with previous chapters, reaffirm the importance of the influence of culture in the style of negotiation in companies that have to relate to peasant communities.

    • Impacto de la infraestructura vial pública en la cadena de suministro del Hostal Plaza Mayor en el Centro Histórico de Lima

      La presente investigación se realizó un análisis y evaluación del impacto de la infraestructura vial en la cadena de suministros del Hostal Plaza Mayor basado en tres tipos de grupos de interés empresas hoteleras, proveedores y clientes en el centro histórico de Lima. En el primer capítulo, se desarrolla el marco teórico donde se incluyen los conceptos básicos utilizados tales como infraestructura pública, cadena de suministro, bienes y servicios, categorización de hostales para facilitar el entendimiento de la investigación presente. Luego, se describe brevemente el panorama actual económico del Perú. Seguido, se describe la historia de la empresa junto con la misión y visión, como también se definen los tres constructos que servirán de base para conocer y evaluar a la empresa con Matriz Foda, cinco fuerzas de Porter y matriz Casa de la Calidad. En el segundo capítulo, se desarrolla el plan de investigación definiendo el problema principal, el objetivo general, los objetivos específicos y las preguntas de investigación que enfocan. En el tercer capítulo, se aplica la metodología a emplear para el presente trabajo que será del tipo cualitativo dado que el tema permite mayor análisis y confrontación de ideas y opiniones con los entrevistados. En el cuarto capítulo, se realizó el desarrollo de la información recopilada a los tres grupos de interés donde se evidenciará los detalles de quienes fueron entrevistados, por qué fueron escogidos, qué preguntas se plantearon a cada uno de los grupos de interés, entre otros. En el quinto capítulo, se procede al análisis con el fin de evaluar los objetivos específicos planteados anteriormente tengan relación con las respuestas y opiniones recibidas por los diversos grupos de interés. Finalmente, se plantean conclusiones y recomendaciones que responden a los objetivos planteados con la información recibida e investigada para efectos del presente trabajo.

      Determinar qué acciones conjuntas entre el sector público y privado se han venido ejecutando, a fin de reforzar el posicionamiento de los arándanos frescos peruanos exportados en los últimos 5 años. En el primer capítulo, se desarrolla el marco teórico, punto indispensable para situar en contexto al lector en el cual se incluirán temas sobre procesos de promoción nacional, barreras no arancelarias, descripción de operadores de comercio exterior, entre otros. Luego, en el segundo capítulo se realiza un análisis descriptivo y explicativo de los Stakeholders, entidades públicas y organizaciones privadas, que intervienen en la exportación de arándanos y el trabajo que vienen desarrollando. Asimismo, se detalla la metodología de investigación realizada en este estudio. Por otro lado, en el tercer capítulo se ejecuta el análisis de datos y resultados del trabajo conjunto entre el sector público y privado, además se describirán los hallazgos, barreras y brechas de la investigación. Finalmente, en el cuarto capítulo se brinda las conclusiones y recomendaciones para este caso.

      The objective of the present investigation is to provide a roadmap for distribution between the company Termoencogibles del Perú S.A. And its customers, as it currently lacks one and consequently does not have a monthly budget allocated for diesel fuel, which generates overcharges and inefficiency. To achieve this aim, it is proposed to use graphical models and algorithms as well as heuristic methods that result in an optimum distribution route at Metropolitan Lima level, taking care of all ordering requests with an efficient fuel energy management in the final phase of The supply chain of the company that is the distribution of its products to its customers.

    • Incidencia de la reducción de la tasa del drawback en la competitividad del sector exportador de prendas de vestir durante el 2011 al 2015

      This research explores the impact of the reduction in the rate of the Drawback in the competitiveness of the export sector of Peruvian garments, during the period of 2011 to 2015. Three indicators were used: the value of the exports of the sector, the mortality of the companies in the sector and the number of applications for Drawback. Research results were also obtained from the analysis of the interviews to the different actors involved in this research, taking into account that they are experts who belong to both the public sector and the business guild. The data were analyzed and focused on reducing the rate of the Drawback to verify if it significantly affects the competitiveness of the export sector of garments, on the assumption that the sector represented by SMEs who more have lost competitiveness. A very important aspect to consider is that the Drawback is a great stimulus to promote exports and improve competitiveness. In that sense, describes a proposal for improvement in the current regime of restitution of tariff right – Drawback, so its rate is staggered and that its use is wider for SMEs in the export sector of clothing garments.

    • La influencia del factor cultural y la comunicación en las negociaciones de la industria minera en el Perú caso Conga

      The purpose of this exploratory research is to determine through an specific case of study named "Conga" if the cultural factor and the communication are key for the development of mining activities in the Andean communities; therefore, the first thing is to present the definition of andean culture and negotiation, as well as analysing the economic impact of mining in Cajamarca. After detailing the theoretical elements on the subject, it is verified if the cultural factor and the communication directly influence the success of the negotiations of the mining companies with the Andean communities. For this purpose, information was collected through several methodological tools such as in-depth interviews with specialists related to the mining activity and through surveys administered to people affected by mining in Cajamarca, in order to know the perception of each of the parties in relation to the subject of the study. The study developed suggests that communication should be considered as a determining factor in the negotiation process, assuming there is a predisposition to reach an agreement on both sides. On the other hand, the cultural factor should not be ignored -although it is often considered irrelevant at the time of the negotiation- because it represents the characteristics of each of the groups, which enables to lay the foundations of the negotiation process. Finally, the present study suggests to take into account the perspective of the population about the record and background of the mining companies, considering this directly influences on the negotiations between the community and the company.
