Asociación entre los niveles de ansiedad dental que presentan los pacientes pediátricos en su primera cita según el test de imágenes de Venham y la ansiedad dental de las madres con la escala de ansiedad dental de Corah en el Centro Universitario de Salud de la UPC(Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC), 2017-02-20)Objective: To evaluate the association between pediatric patients’ dental anxiety and their mothers’ on their first dental visit at the Centro Universitario de Salud – UPC from Peru. Materials and methods: Venham’s Picture Test was used to evaluate children’s anxiety and Corah’s Dental Anxiey Scale for their mothers. 159 patients between the ages of 6 to 12 years old of both genders and their mothers were evaluated at reception while waiting for the first dental visit. Results: It was found that, 14 (8.81%) of the anxious children came with mothers presenting moderate anxiety and just 6 (3.77%) anxious children came with mothers presenting high anxiety, finding a significant association between children’s and mother’s anxiety. (p=0.025). Conclusion: A significant influence of the mother’s level of dental anxiety on their children anxiety during their dental visit was found.Acceso abierto
