    This paper analyzes agriculture in the andean world through the case of the community of Yanque, district of Caylloma province, department of Arequipa (Peru). Agriculture is the main social activity because of the vital collective importance of its economic and politics dimensions, that show how Yanque is an Andean community that, in the 21st century, continues to preserve the tradition of its cultural heritages while it is inserted in modern social changes that entail the dynamic processes of interrelation with urban and global capitalist societies.

  • Representación de raza, clase y moral en la televisión del Perú. Un análisis social de “Magaly TeVe” y “Al fondo hay sitio”

    This article proposes to analyze the representation of race, class and moral in television phenomena “Magaly TeVe” and “Al fondo hay sitio” from an anthropological glance of the television, and understanding their communicative, discursive and social dimensions. On one hand, after analyzing the discourse of “Magaly TeVe”, it was easy to see that the why and how the success of the communication strategy for this television phenomenon closely imposes moral and socially shared codes, and a configured mode of organization, relationship and interaction already validated in our social fabric. On the other hand, after analyzing the discourse of “Al fondo hay sitio”, it was easy to see that we have confused, naively, inclusion with redemption within a framework of convergence space-time of two contradictory cultural codes that permanently relate and interact from guidelines of race and class that function as semantic cores that shape, on the other hand, a determined social relationship and interaction of power and symbolic violence between his characters.

  • Hacia una antropología digital en los Andes peruanos: teorías y estudios

    This paper explores theories and studies to a proposal for digital anthropology in the Peruvian Andes. On the one hand, this paper explains the theoretical foundations on which digital anthropology in the Peruvian Andes is base on, emphasizing 1) The origins of digital anthropology (on a political economy of the mass media and post-colonial approach to new ICT); and 2) Digital technology as social practice (on the discourses as micro-representations ideological and power relationships; the uses and conditions of productive, economic and technical domestication; the role of contexts, actors, purposes and results; and a policy of digitization in the processes of empowerment and inclusion). On the other hand, this paper presents a bibliographical balance of the studies on the new ICT in the Peruvian Andes (on identity expression, productive development and formal education in the Andean world).

  • Yanque en el valle del Colca (Caylloma, Arequipa). Historia y cultura en los siglos XV-XX

    This article reconstructs, by means of archival sources (ethno-historical and anthropological), a history of the privileged and strategic political and economic position of Yanque in the Colca Valley: as a central seat of power of the Collagua estate which controlled the north, east and southeast parts of the Valley from the X to XV centuries; as a center of administration of Inca Tahuantinsuyu, in the Valley from the XV to XVI centuries; as the center of the municipality and region during the Spanish viceroyalty, from the XVI to XVIII centuries; as the capital of the province of Caylloma since the mid-nineteenth century to the early twentieth century, in the “Aristocratic Republic”; and as a tourist area where the largest number of hotels across the Valley is concentrated, since the late twentieth century to the present.

    This paper is about television spectacles, and it intends to outline an explanation of the audiovisual myths that we consume and why we consume them ritually. In the first part, we offer a definition of television spectacles; in the second part, we propose a theory and methodology for the study of audiovisual myths and rites; and, in the third part, we postulate the ritual functions of the consumption of audiovisual myths.

    Este artículo analiza la agricultura en el mundo Andino a través del caso la comunidad de Yanque, distrito de la provincia de Caylloma, departamento de Arequipa (Perú). La agricultura es su principal actividad social debido a la importancia colectiva no sólo de sus manifestaciones económicas y políticas, sino también religiosas. Por eso, este artículo se enfoca en las expresiones religiosas más visibles: el sincretismo católico-quechua y la fiesta laboral ritualizada del Yarqa Aspiy.

  • La dispersión de la identidad corporativa como generadora de problemas comunicacionales y organizacionales

    Communicational management is a message transmitter and image generator in the different publics of society. Whether natural or juridical persons (organizations), communication necessarily starts from the existence of a common basis: identity. Corporate identity, understood as the set of business, organizational, operational and behavioral elements shared by members of an institution has to be managed, because only with this work is it acquires and generates value; That is, it fulfills its work as an intangible asset. Conversely, the absence of management allows the appearance of a frequent but not yet conceptualized phenomenon: dispersion. The present work proposes a theoretical framework around what it is, how it is generated and some forms in which the dispersion of the corporate identity is presented, situations from which a series of communicational and organizational problems are derived that, had there not been an intervention for its solution, can become structural failures that would affect both the development and the activities of the organization.

  • Producción, distribución y exhibición del cine desde una nueva mirada: la web social

    The film industry in Latin America has to deal with financial and distribution problems for projects in the traditional film system. Nevertheless, nowadays the influence of the internet, the global screen, social media, and group participation have changed consumer behavior, giving rise to new tools for the film production and viewing cycle. Audiences do not only consume, but also produce. New filmmakers have taken advantage of this change to rethink the business model, and the production chain for telling their stories. New concepts that help to transform the production chain include crowdfunding, which modifies the financing of projects, products such as the “wikipeli”, which use new methods of production and creation, without distribution intermediaries, and transmedia and storytelling, which modify narration and create a product brand. We seek to show the role of social media tools as alternative audiovisual production mechanisms through a descriptive qualitative analysis of examples of success, interviews and platforms.

  • Procesos de comunicación para la cohesión y articulación social en las instituciones públicas en el Perú: un modelo basado en la Nueva Teoría Estratégica (NTE)

    The process of forming a government -which, according to some of the concepts that are handled on social cohesion, would advance along the path of progress of society- lacks articulators processes to function efficiently in practice. In that sense, is necessary the creation of mechanisms enabling the communication exercise between the population and public institutions, so that project implementation to the ultimate objective should be the common good approach. This paper proposes a model that seeks the communicational effectiveness between citizens and public institutions, based on a conceptualization of cohesion and social articulation from a communicational glance, considering the aspects, processes and assumptions with currently operating some Peruvian public institutions. The concept of organizational defragmentation arises, which helps to understand the gaps that keep society cohesion.

  • La gestión de la comunicación en los gobiernos locales, una mirada desde la perspectiva estratégica: análisis del caso peruano

    The strategic conception of the communication is an approach in constant evolution, which according to the kind of organization acquires particular aspects. This research describes the communication management of 49 local governments in the Province of Lima and Callao in Peru, analyzed from the strategic communication perspective, starting with the analysis of the documents that establish their institutional policy and the appreciations from direct sources. The context is studied taking into account that these organizations, being public institutions, are subject to specific conditions, which define the communicative dimension supported by setting goals and objectives oriented to encourage good relationships with the diverse audience and with the vision of ensuring the transparency and the access to the information by all the citizens; in this context the organizational policies and guidelines, as well as the performance and responsibilities of the persons in charge of managing the communication areas, play a fundamental role, therefore considering the communication management from strategy requires a distinguishing approach which makes sure that the process develops efficiently. This study brings conclusions that help to understand the current situation and also to recognise opportunities of improvement in this specific scenario.
