Objective: To determine if there are variations in the body mass index associated with changes in eating habits and physical activity in first semester students of a private university in Lima, Peru. Materials and methods: An observational, prospective cohort study was conducted in the faculty of health sciences of a private university located in Lima, Peru during the months of March and June 2015. The participants were evaluated anthropometrically and 2 self- applied instruments: the IPAQ short version and the eating habits questionnaire were applied. Results: 120 participants were enrolled and 109 (91%) remained until the final stage. The average age of the evaluated ones was 18.6 years for both genders, predominating the feminine one with 65.1%. It was found that around 80% of those evaluated had inadequate feeding habits in both phases and only one participant changes from having inadequate to adequate habits (0.9%). Likewise, the majority of students presented an adequate BMI in both phases despite the predominant slight physical activity evidenced in both moments. It should be mentioned that of the 23 students who presented variations in their BMI, only one (5.6%) increased or decreased their level of physical activity. Conclusion: No association was found between variations between changes in BMI and variations in eating habits and physical activity. Likewise, it was evidenced that most of the students present inadequate eating habits and low levels of physical activity regardless of nutritional status.

Valverde Caman, Fernando (El Terno, 2016-07)

This article proposes to analyze the representation of race, class and moral in television phenomena “Magaly TeVe” and “Al fondo hay sitio” from an anthropological glance of the television, and understanding their communicative, discursive and social dimensions. On one hand, after analyzing the discourse of “Magaly TeVe”, it was easy to see that the why and how the success of the communication strategy for this television phenomenon closely imposes moral and socially shared codes, and a configured mode of organization, relationship and interaction already validated in our social fabric. On the other hand, after analyzing the discourse of “Al fondo hay sitio”, it was easy to see that we have confused, naively, inclusion with redemption within a framework of convergence space-time of two contradictory cultural codes that permanently relate and interact from guidelines of race and class that function as semantic cores that shape, on the other hand, a determined social relationship and interaction of power and symbolic violence between his characters.

  • Acción planificada hacia el estuido y rendimiento académico. Estudio retrospectivo

Unzueta Callirgos, Ximena (Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, 2017-08)
Objective. To explore the constructed meanings of suicide in a group of psychoanalytic psychotherapists from a formation center in Lima. Method. A phenomenological design from the qualitative model consisting of two stages was used. For the fi rst stage 54 psychoanalytic psychotherapists participated, and for the second stage, 8 participants from the fi rst stage who were involved with patients with suicide ideations and/or attempts were selected. The collecting techniques used were: a data sheet and natural semantic networks for the fi rst stage, and for the second, a detailed interview. Results. The psychotherapists evoke diverse meanings around the suicidal phenomenon, which can be organized into three axis; the patients, the therapist and their countertransference, and the treatment. Conclusion. The meanings are constructed with a foundation of individual experiences, so that countertransference is a psychoanalytical concept that allows for the comprehension of the dynamic between suicidal patients and their therapists, and how it infl uences the creation of mutual meanings. Likewise, the psychotherapists employ the meanings as a manner of giving signifi cance to and comprehending suicide. Keywords. Suicide, psychotherapy, countertransference.

Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) is a respiratory sleep disorder, whose prevalence is increasing worldwide and the importance of its diagnosis lies in the association with cardiac and cerebral vascular events, metabolic disorders, impairment of some mental functions, work accidents, traffic accidents and increased mortality. In the last 20 years, important evidence has been obtained of the relationship between OSAS and one of the main cardiovascular risk factors, arterial hypertension; which at the same time is an etiological factor of ischemic stroke. Subsequently, evidence of the association between OSAS and ischemic stroke has been increasing. We have reviewed the best evidence to establish the relationship between the two pathologies, the proposed pathophysiological mechanisms and the evidence to support whether the treatment of OSAS has any impact on the occurrence of ischemic stroke and on modify the clinical evolution after stroke

Communicational management is a message transmitter and image generator in the different publics of society. Whether natural or juridical persons (organizations), communication necessarily starts from the existence of a common basis: identity. Corporate identity, understood as the set of business, organizational, operational and behavioral elements shared by members of an institution has to be managed, because only with this work is it acquires and generates value; That is, it fulfills its work as an intangible asset. Conversely, the absence of management allows the appearance of a frequent but not yet conceptualized phenomenon: dispersion. The present work proposes a theoretical framework around what it is, how it is generated and some forms in which the dispersion of the corporate identity is presented, situations from which a series of communicational and organizational problems are derived that, had there not been an intervention for its solution, can become structural failures that would affect both the development and the activities of the organization.
