La Cebolla durante los últimos años ha experimentado un crecimiento sostenido; básicamente debido a que se constituye como ingrediente principal para la gastronomía nacional y al aumento del consumo de las familias peruanas, impulsado por el crecimiento económico sostenido que se viene dando en la última década. El plan estratégico está hecho para consolidar a la región Arequipa como líder en la producción de cebolla seca. Durante la elaboración del plan estratégico se tomaron en cuenta aspectos económicos, sociales, productivos, demográficos y geográficos, factores externos e internos y se desarrollaron entrevistas con agricultores de la región para fortalecer la información del análisis interno y externo. De acuerdo al modelo secuencial del proceso estratégico se propuso la visión con un horizonte de tiempo de cinco años con el propósito de contar con un producto de calidad. Posteriormente se consideran las ventajas y la viabilidad del negocio alineadas con el objetivo de alcanzar la visión planteada. El propósito del plan estratégico es proporcionar a los productores de cebolla de la región Arequipa, una herramienta que les permita alcanzar la rentabilidad esperada con el fin de mejorar su calidad de nivel de vida, ofreciendo cebolla de calidad y a la vez productos derivados con valor agregado.The onion has experimented a sustainable growing during last years; basically because it constitutes one of the most principal ingredients in the national gastronomy and the increasing consumption of the Peruvian family impulse by the sustainable economic growing which has being developing in the last decade. The strategic plan is made to consolidate Arequipa region as the leader in the production of dried onion. During the elaboration of the strategic plan a variety of economic, social, productive, demographic and geographic aspects have been taken into account as well as internal and external factors and interviews with farmers of the region have been studied in order to strengthen the internal and external analysis information. According to the sequential model of the strategic process a vision with a horizon of five years was proposed in order to count with a quality product. Lately, the advantages and the viability of the business were considered and aligned with the purpose to reach the outlined vision. The purpose of the strategic plan is provide to the onion producers of the Arequipa region a useful tool which can let reach the profitability expected in order to increase their quality of life, offering a high quality product and at the same time offering derivative products with added value.
