The article summarizes Elizabeth Popp Berman’s book about the process through which U.S. universities began to take an active role as economic actors in the late seventies. The review concludes that the books would be of interest to an international audience given that it allows readers to see how the particularities of U.S practices in university knowledge production may have implications in other parts of the world.
