Introduction: A public institution implemented a program of weight reduction and BMI in favor of the occupational health of its workers. Three interventions were part of the program, evidencing differences in their effectiveness. Objective: To analyze the results of a weight reduction and BMI program in office workers of a public institution in Lima. Methods: We present a secondary analysis of data from a weight reduction program and BMI with three different interventions (A, B and C), in each of which components of education, nutritional counseling, food and physical activity are provided. Sociodemographic, anthropometric data (weight and BMI) and assistance to weight controls were analyzed. The analysis of results and comparison between interventions was made using the percentage of weight loss (% PP), BMI and nutritional status. Results: 189 participants distributed in three interventions A (n = 32), B (n = 98) and C (n = 59) did not show significant differences for the variables age, sex and height. Weight losses were observed in three interventions with an average of 0.5kg, 1.9kg and 5.9kg and an average PP% of 0.007%, 0.03% and 0.06% for A, B and C respectively. Only a reduction in the percentage of obesity was observed in B (26.5% to 22.4%) and C (98.3% to 62.7%). The multiple linear regression analysis shows a direct relationship between the average of assisted controls (total = 12), 2.1 (A), 2.9 (B) and 7.3 (C); and% PP for intervention. Conclusions: Weight reduction was observed in all the interventions in relation to the number of components received and a direct relationship was found with the number of assisted controls.
